It took three years working through Washington State Legislature and literally thousands of you signing the petition, and hundreds more pickleball players contacting their representatives.
Now it's here! Our own pickleball license plate starting on November 1st.

How to Get Your Pickleball Plate
To get your Pickleball license plate, visit the Washington Department of Licensing’s Special Design Plates page. You’ll find a step-by-step guide, pricing details, and how to complete your order. Two plate options are currently available. The Pickleball license plate release has been changed to November 19th.

"Standard" Specialty License Plate
Pickleball background with next plate sequence 5-digitnumber (e.g. PB12345)​

"Personalized" Specialty License Plate
Pickleball background with your choice of 7 characters, no “PB” prefix. (e.g. KITCHEN)​

License Plate Bash
Tournament
Join us for the License Plate Bash Tournament, a fun fundraiser celebrating the Washington State Sport License Plate launch. No partner needed!

Not competing? Everyone can enjoy 3 open-play courts for $20. Come play with PPA pro Ella Cosma or Side Out Tsunami pro Eric Le! We'll have a DJ, plenty to watch, and a chance to win amazing prizes with $10 raffle tickets.

Proceeds from the event will help begin reimbursing the Department of Licensing for expenses and speed up the revenue stream from license plate sales to benefit pickleball. Additionally, the inaugural pickleball license plate, PB00001, will be raffled at the Bash!

Auction
Bid for the right to register one of the first 24 reserved pickleball plates PB00002 to PB00025.

*Fundraiser and auction proceeds will help cover the state’s implementation costs, enabling license plate funds to be used for court construction and maintenance much sooner than expected.

Terms & Disclosure
Under the terms of the enacting legislation SB5444, SMPA is the sponsoring organization responsible for the management of the Pickleball State Sport License Plate program.

Funds from the Department of Licensing’s sale of Pickleball Specialty Plates will be used solely for construction and maintainance of dedicated pickleball courts across Washington State. More details on fund usage can be found here.
While SMPA is responsible for marketing, communication, and fund management, the organization does not receive any license plate proceeds.
